Dear Residents, Family and Friends:

First of all, we at Mt. Ogden Health and Rehabilitation Center want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your support and understanding during this challenging time. Your cooperation is key in allowing our team to focus our efforts on keeping your loved ones safe and comfortable. We are truly all in this together.

We write to update you on the status of the COVID-19 situation at Mt. Ogden. As of late yesterday, we have had one (1) resident test positive for the virus; this resident presently remains with us for continued treatment. Please know that the care of this patient is being directed and carefully overseen by his/her physician; is being continuously monitored by the clinical staff at Mt. Ogden; and is being managed consistent with the guidance that has been provided to us by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control, the County and State Health Departments, and the World Health Organization. More specifically, we are taking all steps to keep this patient quarantined and isolated, and are consistently monitoring temperatures and symptoms of all staff and residents.

In addition, we continue to adhere to the Guidance published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as we navigate these waters. This Guidance was updated on March 14, 2020, and confirmed the restriction on visitation in all nursing facilities across the nation. Specifically,  only essential medical personnel and end of life visitors being allowed in to the building, and only after these individuals have been screened and assessed as per the existing Guidelines. While it is difficult to interrupt visitation, we believe this intervention has helped us to effectively manage our environment in a way that minimizes the further spread of infection.

Importantly, we want you to know that the Mt. Ogden team continues to work tirelessly in their efforts to provide patient-centered, quality and compassionate care to each resident in the Facility. These challenges have united us, and we are steadfastly committed to the people we serve. We are beyond grateful to every single employee and staff member who has dedicated their life to the care and treatment of others, the people we lovingly refer to as the “heroes without capes.”

We continue to take urgent action to minimize the possible exposure associated with this virus, and all of the interventions referenced in our previous communications of March 10 and March 15 (found on the “News” section of the Facility website) remain in place. Please reach out with questions, concerns, or requests for assistance.  We will keep you updated as additional information becomes available.
